# Video: the incredible work of ARKit and virtual reality
After Apple introduced its new ARKit platform, the developers decided not to waste time – they have already shown what the Augmented Reality technology can do with the iPhone and iPad. And one of these days one of the creators of Normal VR demonstrated the work of ARKit in combination with the helmet of virtual reality.
The video, which was recorded on a 10-inch iPad Pro, shows how the developer uses ARKit and the Unity game engine to get the character to repeat the physical movements of the person in the virtual reality helmet.
The equipment for virtual reality is very similar to HTC Vive, but it is impossible to say with certainty about this. Nevertheless, the very fact of creating such a tool is amazing, since it opens new opportunities for the mobile games industry.
The first applications with ARKit support should appear in the new App Store along with the official release of iOS 11 this fall.
