The biggest phones in the world
A tablet or tablet and smartphone hybrid
If you ask an IT specialist how the biggest phones in the world look, the answer will be something like: “This is a tablet computer with all the functions and amenities of a smartphone.” In 2016, an increasing part of the market began to occupy, so-called, tablets – hybrids of tablets and telephones (hence the name). Today they are produced by such IT-giants as Samsung, HTC, Sony, Nokia and, indeed, all other competing companies in this market segment. Each manufacturer offers users its own unique tablet designs that differ not only in performance and the availability of various “chips”, but also in the size of the screen. Let’s consider some of them.
Xperia Z Ultra
At the moment, this touch “giant” is still the leading line in the ranking of phones with the largest screens. The diagonal of the display of the plafond is 6.4 inches (as much as 16.2 cm!). The brainchild Sony not only competes with smartphones from other manufacturers, but even somewhere it even displaces 7-inch tablets, like Google Nexus 7, from the market.
Of course, the large size is not the only thing this phone can boast of. The waterproof case, a 4-core processor with a total frequency of 2.2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of flash memory, 8 mP camera, 1080 x 1920 resolution – in general, the technical characteristics of the Xperia Z Ultra are quite high. And among the “chips” is worth noting the sensitive sensor, which you can control the touch of any kind of objects – not just your fingers.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3
By the size of the screen, this smartphone is quite a bit short of its competitor from Sony. The diagonal of the Galaxy Mega is 6.3-inches (just over 16 cm). And its price is lower by about 25-30%. It was the last factor that made Megu a competitor to similar tablets, including the offspring of Sony. In terms of performance, the Galaxy Mega is inferior to the Xperia Z Ultra: 1.7 GHz processor, 1.5 GB RAM. As for the screen – here Mega also pumped up. For such a diagonal, its resolution is only 720 x 1280 pixels, which is not enough by modern standards.
Huawei Ascend Mate
In third place in our ranking of “giants” is the tablet of the Chinese manufacturer Huawei. The Ascend Mate model received a fairly large screen of 6.1 inches (about 15.5 cm). However, its resolution is also small, like the Galaxy Mega – only 720 x 1280 pixels. But Huawei decided to take a viewing angle. Thanks to the IPS technology, the screen image from the Ascend Mate screen is clearly visible at different angles. As for performance, this phone is somewhere between the two previous models – the processor – 1.5 GHz, RAM – 2 GB.
Certainly, the rating we compiled can change tomorrow, if it did not happen yesterday. IT corporations do not slumber – you can definitely say that right now engineers in their laboratories are creating all new devices with even larger screens, technical characteristics and amenities.
