"The ambulance" will come faster if you have Android
The European Emergency Numbers Association (EENA) is actively promoting the technology of improved mobile geolocation (AML), which allows to locate a person who calls emergency service with high accuracy. Despite the fact that Apple is almost nothing to include support for this technology in iOS, the company for some reason refuses to integrate a solution that will save thousands of lives.
According to experts, when using AML, the caller's location is determined approximately 4000 times more accurately than with standard mobile gadget tools. At the same time, the subscriber does not need to take any additional actions: just call an emergency service and his location will be instantly established.
It is noteworthy that when the association addressed a similar request to Google, the company Sundara Pichai responded with joy. Thus, Android users in this respect are in a better position than the owners of the iPhone or iPad.
Apparently, in this situation, we again faced the desire of Apple to protect the maximum amount of personal data of iOS users. Still, if confidential information is in the hands of representatives of rescue services, there is a risk that they will be at the disposal of intruders.
