Apple loses Xiaomi battle for wearable devices
Apple still has not reported how many smart watches it managed to realize, but analysts are not asleep – thanks to their sources, they know about not only the number of devices sold, but also the market share of the company. And according to the latest indicator, if you believe the company Canalys, Apple is still losing Xiaomi and Fitbit.
According to experts, last quarter Apple sold 2.7 million smart hours. Sales of Xiaomi and Fitbit amounted to 3.5 million devices and 3.3 million respectively, while Fitbit also scored a 34% drop compared to the same period last year.
Apple is still difficult to catch up with Xiaomi in the market of smart wearable accessories, but the average price of the sold device from the company from Cupertino is much higher, since Xiaomi sells devices worth several times cheaper. This, in turn, allows the Chinese giant to cover the budget market, while Apple Watch is still unavailable for it.
Analysts believe that if Apple releases smart watches with cellular support (LTE), the market will boom, and the corporation will be able to take first place. However, other watch manufacturers, including Samsung, did not help at the time: users did not buy watches with SIM cards, because the devices were too big and because of that they looked ridiculous.
